For A&O Shearman, we created Gala of the Stars at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam. Inspired by the atmosphere of a contemporary award show, the evening unfolded through deep red tones, velvet textures, mirrored surfaces and warm theatrical lighting. Somewhere between a gala dinner, a stage production and a late night celebration.
Guests arrived along a fifty metre red carpet overlooking the water, framed by photographers, flashing lights and a champagne tower at the entrance. Inside the dinner hall, upside down Christmas trees suspended above the tables transformed the space into a surreal setting layered with candlelight, pearls, deep red linen and soft golden accents. Throughout the evening, performances, speeches and live moments were woven into the programme, gradually building the atmosphere within the room rather than interrupting it.
Later, the foyer shifted into the afterparty. A styled DJ booth anchored the space while vogue dancers from House of Vineyard moved through the crowd alongside mirrored installations, cocktails and moving lights. As the evening unfolded further, the atmosphere became looser, louder and more celebratory, carrying the energy through to the final moments of the night.
